About the Organization CIVIL ENGINEER – WATER RESOURCES

CAP Government, Inc. is seeking the immediate hire of a licensed Civil Engineer – Water Resources with four plus years of experience. Candidates with experience in capital improvement projects is a plus. Some travel may be required for inspections and/or managing projects in the assigned area.

We currently have positions available in our Broward and Miami-Dade offices. Candidates must possess excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

Duties, Responsibilities, and Qualifications
  • A thorough knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices; wide knowledge of survey and construction practices related to municipal public works; knowledge of design principles, and ability to perform and evaluate difficult design work; ability to coordinate the work of engineers and technical personnel; ability to write reports; ability to establish and maintain effective public relations.
  • Support our growing water resources practice which will require working with multi-disciplinary teams for a variety of existing and new public and private clients.
  • Work in a dynamic team environment on a range of projects including surface water management studies, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, analysis and design, flood studies, bridge hydraulics, green infrastructure planning and design.
  • Prepare Hydraulic/Hydrology studies, drainage reports, design documents, and design plans and specifications for water resources projects.
  • Technical writing in the form of memorandums, feasibility studies, regulatory submittals, and master plans.
  • Assist with developing scopes of work and associated budgets.
  • Watershed master planning, stormwater master planning
  • Report or planning level documents CIP development.
  • You will flourish in both building meaningful internal and external professional relationships.
  • You will work closely and collaboratively with other industry-leading professionals, various jurisdictions, and contractors.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Manager.
Education & Experience
  • Must be a Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Florida; and
  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related engineering discipline, and four (4) years practical engineering experience including two (2) years' civil engineering experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Hydro

    CAD, SWMM, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, Storm

    CAD, and other related hydrologic/hydraulic analysis and design software
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Positive attitude, self-motivated; sense of urgency to produce high-quality work.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with the potential/desire to lead a practice and manage clients and a team
  • Skill in managing multiple projects simultaneously
