Position Details
Financial Analyst 1 – Full time employee located in Coral Gables, FL.
Responsibilities- Prepare and coordinate documentation of financial analysis projects such as budgets, forecasts, projections, expense performance, and presentations.
- Identify trends and developments in competitive environments and present findings.
- Provide analytical support for forward-looking financial or business-related projects.
- Perform financial forecasting and reconciliation of accounts.
- Design and build models summarizing growth and expansion scenarios.
- Develop and maintain performance and productivity dashboards, models, or analyses.
- Collect, interpret, and analyze relevant data or metrics.
- Develop and maintain reports to support plans, business decisions, operational changes, strategic plans, and new services.
- Resolve reporting issues.
- Make recommendations to align policies and procedures with best practices and capitalize on financial opportunities.
- Adhere to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguard assets.
- Serve as primary financial analyst supporting multiple academic and administrative units within Shared Services, providing strategic guidance and operational support.
- Collaborate with department leadership to develop, monitor, and analyze annual operating budgets, forecasts, and long‑range financial plans.
- Review financial activity across assigned units, identify budget variances and expenditure trends, and provide recommendations.
- Assist departments with preparation and review of financial transactions including purchase requisitions, budget transfers, journal entries, expense reimbursements, payroll funding changes, and Workday transactions.
- Serve as liaison between assigned departments and central offices including Finance, Human Resources, Procurement, and Sponsored Programs to facilitate efficient operations and issue resolution.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (required).
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
- Learning agility – ability to learn new procedures and adapt to changing priorities.
- Teamwork – ability to collaborate and contribute to a team environment.
- Technical proficiency – skilled in using office software and relevant applications.
- Communication – strong and clear written and verbal communication skills.
