Silver Hill Capital, a subsidiary of Bayview, specializes in servicing both small and large balance commercial loans. Silver Hill Capital primarily services loans for investors, property owners, and developers, focusing on construction, bridge, and PACE lending.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Sr. Specialist is responsible for overseeing and executing complex cash management processes, including the review and processing of incoming funds, payoffs, reversals, and other cash transaction adjustments. This role involves managing the ACH program, payment line maintenance, quality control, and providing mentorship to junior processors. In addition to maintaining daily processing responsibilities, the Senior Specialist handles escalated issues, ensures portfolio-specific transaction accuracy, and partners with senior management on system improvements and special projects.
The Senior Specialist leads initiatives to streamline processes, optimize workflows, and support both onshore and offshore teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise daily payment processing activity, ensuring accurate and timely completion and resolving escalated transactions.
- Lead payoff processing, application of funds, post-payoff activities, and liquidation balance clearing.
- Manage portfolio-specific transactions, including wires, checks, fee assessments, and payment adjustments.
- Conduct research on unidentified transactions, ensuring proper allocation and documentation.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for payment processing systems, providing guidance to internal teams and improving workflow efficiency.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring adherence to best practices in cash management.
- Mentor and support junior team members, offering training and development opportunities.
- Coordinate with offshore teams to align the best practices and ensure accurate, timely execution of processes.
- Identify process gaps and drive improvements in system usage and department workflows.
- Lead or contribute to special projects assigned by senior management, including process enhancement initiatives and system upgrades.
- Other duties as needed or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in mortgage or commercial loan servicing.
- 3-5 years of experience in mortgage banking, cash management, or a related field.
SKILLS:
- Proven expertise in cash management processes, including ACH, wires, and payment reconciliations.
- Experience with servicing platforms, including Servicing Director or Strategy Servicing System, is highly desirable.
- Leadership skills with the ability to mentor, guide, and support junior staff.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including balancing and reconciling.
- Advanced problem-solving abilities and capacity to handle escalated issues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and servicing platforms like Servicing Director or Strategy Servicing System.
- Highattentionto detail, withthe ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
- Exceptional communication skills to liaise effectively withcross-functional teams and senior management.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to lead process improvement initiatives.
