Banquet Captain – THesis Hotel Miami

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated Banquet Captain to join our team. The role involves directing set up and preparation of banquet rooms, serving and bussing tables, and working with the Banquet Manager to lead all hourly banquet staff.

• Set up banquet functions: drape tables, set silverware, fold napkins, prepare drinks, and display centerpieces.
• Serve food and beverages to guests during events.
• Clear and break down banquet rooms after events, including bussing tables, oring dirty linen, and vacuuming.
• Assist with back‑hall cleaning and storeroom organization.
• Prepare break stations (coffee, tea, snacks) for AM or PM breaks.
• Prepare condiments, brew coffee, and keep workstations stocked.
• Sanitize tables and surfaces after guests finish.
• Explain menu items, cooking methods, and ingredients to guests and handle special dietary requests.
• Provide guests with property information, and offer a warm welcome/farewell.
• Assist other departments and maintain safety awareness.
• Monitor tables for customer satisfaction and quality, addressing any issues promptly.
• Support events and restaurant staff as needed.

• 2–4 years of food service experience, preferably in banquet service.
• Experience in 4‑star or 5‑star venues with synchronized service.
• Knowledge of wine, beer, cocktails, and spirits.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
• Passion for creating an exceptional guest experience.
• Excellent communication skills.

$15.00 – $19.00 per hour. Compensation packages vary based on skill set, experience, certifications, and location.
