Programmer , IDSC Realities

The Frost Institute for Data Science and Computing (IDSC) seeks a Programmer to assist in the creation and modification of virtual experiences for the Future Realities Research Lab (FRL). This is a temporary position for twelve (12) months.

The Programmer 1 analyzes, designs, writes, tests, and implements new programs and applications. Moreover, the incumbent maintains and revises existing systems and provides technical assistance to end-users and others within Information Technology.

• Assist in the creation and modification of virtual experiences.
• Create or integrate 3D models for items requested for the experiences.
• Meet frequently with FRL contacts to gather feedback, outline tasks, and ultimately implement their vision for the experiences.
• Maintain documentation with processes related to creating the experiences.

• Education:
  
  Bachelor's Degree in relevant field.
• Experience:
  
  One (1) year experience working in virtual reality development; experience uploading custom content to the STEAM platform and with VR and VR interaction/movement metaphors; any appropriate combination of relevant education and/or experience may be considered.
• Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
  Demonstrated familiarity with the Unity game engine; demonstrated familiarity with the STEAM and other VR platforms; interpersonal skills.
