Puyana Plastic Surgery is seeking an experienced, highly organized, and proactive Nurse Coordinator to help oversee the clinical and day-to-day operations of our on-site office-based surgical facility.
This is a hands-on role for a Registered Nurse who enjoys both patient care and the operational side of running a safe, organized, compliant, and efficient OR and PACU.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate daily OR and PACU operations and surgical-day readiness.
- Provide hands-on nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures as appropriate.
- Coordinate with the surgeon, anesthesia providers, and surgical team.
- Review surgical charts and clinical documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- Oversee required OR/PACU logs, medication documentation, crash cart checks, sterilization records, and other clinical documentation.
- Monitor surgical supplies, medications, inventory, and equipment readiness.
- Help ensure compliance with applicable office-surgery, infection-control, and safety requirements.
- Maintain continuous readiness for inspections and compliance reviews.
- Coordinate equipment maintenance, servicing, and required testing.
- Help train and coordinate OR/PACU personnel and ensure established protocols are followed.
- Identify missing documentation, supply shortages, or operational issues and ensure they are addressed promptly.
- Develop and maintain organized OR workflows, checklists, and processes.
- Active Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
- Prior OR, PACU, ambulatory surgery center, or office-based surgery experience required.
- Strong understanding of perioperative nursing and OR/PACU workflows.
- Plastic surgery experience strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of infection control, sterilization, medication management, surgical documentation, and patient safety.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and accountable.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Comfortable taking ownership and working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
