2026-27 Social Media and Marketing Internship (September-April)
Position Summary:
The Iowa Heartlanders Marketing Department is seeking enthusiastic and motivated interns who are eager to gain hands-on experience within a professional hockey organization. This is an unpaid internship, with paid opportunities available on game days. Interns will gain practical, real-world experience in social media, graphic design, and/or videography while contributing to the continued growth of the Heartlanders brand. Interns will play an active role in researching and capturing dynamic content, supporting digital marketing initiatives, and helping create engaging experiences for Heartlanders fans.

This position is ideal for students looking to build their portfolio, strengthen technical skills, and grow professionally in a collaborative, fast-paced sports environment.

Responsibilities >>>

Social Media:

• Assist with content creation and publishing across social media platforms.
• Contribute creative ideas for social media campaigns and fan engagement.
• Support the planning and execution of social media calendars.
• Capture photo and video content during games, practices, and community events for digital platforms.
• Attend assigned games and practices to gather live content.

Graphic Design:

• Create and edit graphics for digital, social media, and in-arena use.
• Assist with branded marketing materials and promotional assets.

Videography:

• Capture and edit video content for social media, promotional campaigns, and in-arena use.

Additional Duties:

• Support various marketing initiatives as assigned.
• Collaborate effectively with team members across departments.

Qualifications >>>

• Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays - Must be available to work all home games.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Creative mindset with a strong work ethic.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator (Graphic Design).
• Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro (Videography).
• Experience with photography and editing software such as Lightroom.
