Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse)

CompensationHourly Wage Range: $24.32 - $33.44

Up to $5,000

Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility and manage donor adverse events.
- Review laboratory test results and notify donors of unsuitable test results.
- Conduct informed consent, AIDS education, medical history interview, and acceptance requirements.
- Perform physical examinations, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions and follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Refer donors to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when providing unacceptable findings or guidance concerning medical or technical issues.
- Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER.
- Refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats.
- Assist with regulations of the plasma collection industry or manufacturing environment.
- Provide center‑level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS) per Bio Life Medical Affairs guidance.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
- Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned (e.g., EMT‑Paramedic).
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
- Fulfil state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Successful completion of FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- At least two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
