Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse)

Hourly Wage Range: $24.32 - $33.44

Sign‑on Bonus:
Up to $5,000

• Determine donor eligibility and manage donor adverse events.
• Review laboratory test results and notify donors of unsuitable test results.
• Conduct informed consent, AIDS education, medical history interview, and acceptance requirements.
• Perform physical examinations, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
• Evaluate donor reactions and follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
• Refer donors to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when providing unacceptable findings or guidance concerning medical or technical issues.
• Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER.
• Refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats.
• Assist with regulations of the plasma collection industry or manufacturing environment.
• Provide center‑level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS) per Bio Life Medical Affairs guidance.

• High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned (e.g., EMT‑Paramedic).
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
• Fulfil state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Successful completion of FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
• At least two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
