Produce Team Lead

Description

• Support inventory and merchandising goals
• Meet objectives for sales, labor costs, and service
• Ensure that the department contributes to the financial best interest of the store
• Develop and support procedures for ordering, receiving, pricing, and stocking for the department
• Hire, train, develop, and schedule Produce Department personnel; develop, maintain, and be responsible for team performance standards
• Uplift, encourage, mentor, and lead a dynamic team of individuals
• Ensure adherence to New Pioneers’ customer service standards
• Maintain a clear line of communication between all departments
• Work closely with the Produce Coordinator, Store Team Lead, and Receiver on inventory standards, programs, sale cycles, and department resets
• Perform other duties and assignments as directed by the Store Team Lead and Assistant Store Team Lead

• Computer literacy, experience with MS 365
• Point-of-Sale experience
• Ability to plan, develop, and implement systems to provide for efficient and productive operations
• Commitment to work positively with others in a collaborative environment where teamwork and constant communication are essential
• Experience in supervising/managing/ leading, hiring, training, motivating, and evaluating staff
• Knowledge of organic, natural, and commercial produce practices, organic certification and sustainability standards.

• Must have a high level of mobility/flexibility in the space provided
• Must be able to carry food products weighing 20 pounds for distances up to 30 feet regularly
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
• Exposure to heat, cold, and odors
• Working in a retail grocery store and office environment

This position requires a committed schedule which may include opening, mid-shift, and closing, and requires weekend, and holiday shifts on a regular basis.
