Job Overview
Head Teller responsible for assisting the assigned Banking Center in meeting and/or exceeding branch profitability goals by generating new and/or managing existing customers and ensuring that efficient, professional, and quality VIP service is delivered through the handling of various financial transactions whether in person or by telephone.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain customer relationships by calling on prospective customers, identifying prospects, establishing suitable methods of contact, and determining appropriate products and/or services.
- Responsible for clearing all branch deposit exceptions and completing all file maintenances.
- Approve check cashing and holds on transactions defined by policy limits.
- Lead Vault Teller and maintain a monthly rotation with assigned staff.
- Manage and lead the Teller staff.
- Open all types of consumer and business deposit accounts including checking, money market, savings, IRAs, CDs, and safe deposit boxes.
- Refer opportunities to ancillary lines of business.
- Perform day‑to‑day operations to achieve satisfactory scores on branch audits.
- Perform transactions and balance branch vault.
- Assist customers with financial transactions:
- Cash checks within proper authorization levels and pay out money after verifying signatures, amount accuracy, and account sufficiency.
- Receive checks and cash for deposit, verify amounts, and check accuracy of deposit slips.
- Record transactions and issue computer‑generated receipts.
- Place holds on accounts.
- Assist customers with questions, concerns, and explanations or demonstrations of bank products or services offered.
- Recognize and pursue opportunities to cross‑sell products and services based upon the customer’s needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Assist Financial Center Managers with front‑line staffing.
- Lead tellers in daily activities.
- Train and develop tellers.
- Conduct regular audits of teller transactions to ensure compliance with banking regulations and internal policies.
- Track sales referrals and lead monthly blitz.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and banking information systems applicable to the assignment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive documents or confidential information.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively with a team and with minimal direct supervision.
- Strong ability to manage time and complete assignments efficiently.
- Basic arithmetic skills applicable to banking.
- High school diploma or associates degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field preferred (experience may substitute).
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including early, late, and weekend hours, and be available on Saturdays (but not required to work every Saturday).
- Must be able to attend new‑hire training and orientation in Lexington, KY Monday‑Friday 9:00 am‑4:00 pm for one‑to‑two weeks.
- Ability to travel to other locations as needed.
- Must remain drug‑free and alcohol‑free when reporting to work and during work‑related activities.
