Electrician Pay: £18.85 per hour
PAYE
Location:
Covering North Northamptonshire, predominantly Corby and Kettering
Length: 3 Months (ongoing)
Hours:
37 hours per week
Mon-Thu: 8:30am - 4:30pm (30 min break)
Fri: 8:30am - 4:00pm (30 min break)
Opus People Solutions are recruiting on behalf of North Northamptonshire Council for experienced Electricians to join their Housing Services team carrying out essential electrical works across social housing properties throughout the North Northamptonshire area.
As an Electrician, your responsibilities will include:- Carrying out electrical remedial works within occupied and void social housing properties
- Undertaking testing and inspection activities to ensure compliance and safety standards are met
- Completing rewiring works where required
- Diagnosing and resolving electrical faults efficiently
- Ensuring all works are completed to a high standard in line with current regulations
- Accurately completing relevant documentation and certification
- Delivering excellent customer service when working within tenants' homes
- Participating in the out-of-hours emergency call-out rota
- Mileage paid at 45p per mile when using your own vehicle
- Company vehicle may be available where required
- Own standard power tools beneficial
- Call-out rota: 1 week in every 4 weeks
- Ongoing contract opportunity with immediate start available
Qualifications:
Applicants must hold and be able to provide proof of:
- City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1 & 2 (or equivalent)
- City & Guilds 2382 18th Edition
- City & Guilds 2391 Test & Inspection (or equivalent)
- Proven experience in testing and inspection
- Experience working within domestic or social housing environments is desirable
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Willingness to undertake CAT B Asbestos Awareness Training (or provide current certification)
- Strong technical electrical knowledge
- Ability to work independently across multiple sites
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Commitment to safe working practices and compliance standards
- Reliability, flexibility, and a proactive approach to work
Interviews will be held face-to-face at the Council depot in Corby or Kettering.
All offers will be subject to satisfactory compliance screening, including right to work in the UK and references.
