Summary
The Store Manager oversees and is responsible for the store's sales efforts across all departments, supervises overall operations to ensure efficiency and profitability, enforces company policies, and maintains brand representation through appearance, attitude, and professionalism.
Responsibilities- Drive store sales and meet sales goals, focusing on company growth.
- Manage and control store assets.
- Direct and oversee all sales efforts in the store.
- Train and mentor store associates in sales strategies and skills.
- Maintain knowledge of all store operations, including sales statistics, inventory, and expenses.
- Consult and collaborate with District Sales Manager to establish and enforce policies, goals, and procedures.
- Ensure staff completes all responsibilities and standards in each department.
- Mentor and cultivate a team of Sales Associates, Assistant Managers, and Managers in Training.
- Recruit, hire, train, discipline, and evaluate personnel.
- Manage payroll and scheduling to meet labor goals.
- Maintain proper store security; partner with Asset Protection to prevent theft and reduce shrink.
- Communicate inventory movement and maintain inventory goals and strategies.
- Execute marketing and advertising plans and stay aware of customer trends.
- Monitor competition, new ideas, and community events to identify opportunities.
- Provide exceptional customer service as outlined in the customer service manual.
- Ensure internal controls protect company assets and financial information; report potential fraud risks.
- Manage subordinate supervisors and non‑management employees (Sales Associates, Hub Drivers, Assistant Managers, Managers in Training).
- Direct overall coordination and evaluation of the supervisory team, following company policies and applicable laws.
- Interview, hire, train, appraise performance, reward, discipline, and resolve employee complaints.
- Bachelor's degree in business or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience working in a retail environment, preferably footwear and athletic apparel.
- Experience managing and cultivating a sales team.
- 3–5 years of customer service experience.
- 3+ years of management experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Analytical thinker with demonstrated business acumen.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities.
- A strong commitment to customer service.
