Maintenance Technician

GENERAL DESCRIPTION - PURPOSE OF ROLE:

General preventative maintenance, repair, rework of all machines, production equipment and building.

Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Rework and rebuild machinery and equipment in plant such as saws, cranes and welders to machinery specifications and /or best general industry repair practices
• Perform preventive maintenance on machinery according to machine specifications and planned plant programs
• Service and maintain company vehicles
• Follow safety lock-out/tag-out procedures in all situations of repair, rework or maintenance
• Perform maintenance on the building and property as necessary
• Report all problems and safety concerns to supervisor
• Supports facility housekeeping and Health, Safety and Environmental Policy and procedures through department activities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Minimum 2-3 years mechanical experience preferred
• Engineering drawing reading required
• Valid Georgia driver's license may be required

The successful candidate should:

• Have proficiency in basic math
• Be able to use hand tools, voltage meter, measuring instruments, and operate forklift and overhead cranes, lifting machines weighing up to 40 tons
• Communicate efficiently
• Be willing to learn daily and interact with a team
• Have the ability to work through problem solving processes and present ideas
