Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Instructor

Education Applicant must have earned a two-year college degree (associate degree) or higher from an accredited institution of higher education or hold a valid standard five-year renewable CTE license in the Construction Career Pathway. Occupational Experience Applicant with an associate degree must have at least two years of verifiable occupational experience in the past ten years. Applicant with a bachelor or higher degree must have at least one year of verifiable occupational experience in the past ten years.

Experience must be appropriate to the subject being taught. Requirements upon employment Applicant must complete the NTI (New Teacher Induction) program. (Exception:
Teachers that have a currently valid five-year license or have completed an alternate route program do not have to complete NTI.) Applicant must complete the Certification of Online Learning workshop and obtain a passing score on a Technology Assessment approved by the Mississippi Department of Education. Applicant must complete the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning Methods Course approved by the Mississippi Department of Education.

Applicant must complete the individualized professional development plan (PDP) requirements. Applicant must earn the required score on the NCCER Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Technician assessment.
