Field Unit Local Authority; FUL-Educational Technician

Duties

Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as Career appointments, but do not provide work on a year-round basis. You will work from approximately 11 months, and you will be in a non-pay/non-duty status for at least 2 weeks to 6 months from December 27 through February 6, per year based on project requirements or weather conditions. As an Educational Technician, you will perform the following duties:

• Present K-12 curriculum-based education programs following established themes, learning objectives, curriculum requirements, guidelines, utilizing teaching methods appropriate to each grade level.
• Present teacher training workshops and staff training.
• Research, develop and present resource-based interpretive programs for the public during peak visitation periods or if staff shortages occur.
• Provide orientation information at visitor centers and respond to visitor questions, emergencies, or other needs by phone, email or in person.
• Assist with the day-to-day operation of the education program including answering phones, record keeping, internal communications, correspondences, and materials maintenance and storage.
