Primary Purpose

Foster a dynamic learning environment supporting intellectual, emotional, physical, and social development; design and implement instructional strategies that align with district curriculum, educational best practices, and state standards; promote a culture of learning, collaboration, and personal growth to prepare students for future academic and life achievements.

Qualifications

Education and Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Master’s degree (preferred)
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for the subject and level assigned
  • ESL certification (preferred; or obtain within one year of hire)

Experience

  • One (1) year of clinical teaching (preferred; may substitute with one (1) year of full‑time teaching experience)

Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of subject(s) assigned
  • Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
  • Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, including differentiation based on learning styles
  • Knowledge of data information systems and data analysis for action plans
  • Demonstrated competency in core academic subject area

  • Professionalism, ethical conduct, and accountability
  • Advanced organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Key Responsibilities
  • Implement lesson plans aligned with curriculum; demonstrate written preparation
  • Deliver engaging instruction using appropriate strategies, activities, materials, equipment, and technology; address diverse learning styles
  • Integrate technology to enhance learning
  • Assess student learning and adapt instruction accordingly
  • Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula and provide accommodations per IEPs
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to set instructional goals and methods aligned with district expectations
  • Supervise instructional aides and volunteers
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement using formal and informal methods
  • Support students in effective study habits and self‑reflection
  • Lead and participate in extracurricular activities as assigned
  • Serve as a role model; demonstrate professionalism and reinforce mission
  • Maintain classroom environment and manage behavior per policies
  • Ensure safety of students and materials
  • Assist in selecting instructional materials
  • Organize record‑keeping, grading, and reporting
  • Enforce school rules and policies while presenting subject matter
  • Maintain professional communication with parents, students, colleagues, and community
  • Keep principal informed of conditions and new techniques
  • Engage in staff development and stay current with regulations
  • Participate in faculty meetings and serve on committees
  • Adhere to district policies and safety protocols
