The Police Officer Recruit is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Corinth, TX. The recruit will perform entry‑level law enforcement duties under close supervision, including responding to calls for service, conducting patrols, and engaging in community‑oriented policing activities. Daily tasks include documenting incidents, collecting and preserving evidence, assisting with preliminary criminal investigations, and enforcing local, state, and federal laws in a fair and impartial manner.
The role involves interacting with community members, providing public safety education, and supporting crime prevention initiatives. Recruits will participate in required training, maintain physical fitness, follow departmental policies and procedures, and work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Foundational knowledge of law enforcement practices, including Law Enforcement and Police procedures.
- Ability to assist with evidence handling, documentation, and preservation in accordance with legal standards.
- Interest and aptitude for supporting criminal investigations, including gathering information and preparing reports.
- Commitment to the professional responsibilities expected of Police Officers, including integrity, impartiality, and respect for diverse communities.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in criminal justice or a related field is beneficial.
- Ability to meet physical fitness and medical standards required for police academy and field duties.
- Strong communication, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain required state certification and a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Willingness to work in a team environment, accept constructive feedback, and adhere to departmental policies and ethical guidelines.
