Details of service:
This is for a Temporary Consultant Microbiologist post based at the hospital to provide, together with the other four Consultant Microbiologists, the South East “Regional” clinical Microbiology, Infection Prevention & Control and Antimicrobial Stewardship services for the 4 acute hospitals (currently within 2 different hospital groups), as well as the diagnostic laboratory Microbiology service to these 5 hospitals and to all GPs, Public Health doctors, district, long stay & other community- based hospitals in counties Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Waterford & South Tipperary.
This is a quality Microbiology clinical and public health laboratory service, highly regarded nationally, fully accredited to ISO standard operating out of the Hospital. This service is unique in that it provides centralised Regional (Network
1) Microbiology service and in providing a Consultant provided service with Specialist Registrar support. There is a 1 in 5 on-call commitment for the provision of the out-of-hours Clinical Microbiology service.
Benefits:
- Initial contract for 12 months with a view for extension.
- Approximate net monthly salary of € 10,000 net/month (new POCC 2023) after tax and pension deductions for Consultant positions depending on experience. Could have the possibility to earn more money through private patients.
- Possibility to get paid through the agency on hourly rates of 90-120€/hour (+VAT). The agency will help the doctor to get setup as a Company or under an umbrella company of you wish to use this type of arrangement and shorter contracts can be offered in this case up to a minimum of 1-2 months.
- 31 working days per Year holidays for Consultants+ public holidays (there is 10 in a year).
- Up to €12,000 for educational funding for Consultants (master degrees, etc)
- Up to €8,000 per annum will be made available for support for innovation projects.
- Lucrative pension scheme included.
- Should be a Specialist in Microbiology inside the European Union. Will need to get registered with the Irish Medical Council on the Specialist Registrar but we can help you with that if not yet registered. Please take into account that the process can take up to 4-5 months in total.
- Have a very good command of written and spoken English.
- Good motivation to go to Ireland to work as a doctor asap.
- Access to transport required.
