Novant Health Lakeside Family Physicians Antiquity clinic is hiring a Full
- Time Certified Medical Assistant. The CMA is to coordinate and assist the provider to ensure safe quality/cost effective service and care for the people within the practice population.
As a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), you will play a vital role in coordinating clinical care and assisting providers to ensure safe, high-quality, and cost-effective healthcare for patients across all stages of life. What You'll Do- Partner with providers to deliver outstanding patient care and support efficient clinic operations.
- Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs, medical histories, and updating electronic medical records.
- Perform clinical procedures within scope of practice, including injections, immunizations, medication administration, EKGs, point-of-care testing, and specimen collection.
- Coordinate patient flow to ensure timely, efficient visits while maintaining a positive patient experience.
- Assist with prescription refills, referrals, prior authorizations, and follow-up care.
Education
:
High School or GED, required. Candidates will provide proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries including:
- CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
- CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA)
- RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT)
- American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA)
- National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
- National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)
- American Allied Health (AAH)
- RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)
Experience
:
Previous work in a medical office, preferred.
Licensure/Certification
:
Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required
Refer to Life Support Training Policy NH-HR-3096
Current State Drivers License (Palliative Care Only), required
Additional Skills/Requirements (required):
Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.
