Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position in Cornelius, NC, requiring 3 years of acute OR experience and Epic proficiency.

• Work in a 3-OR suite at a small, non-trauma, non-teaching community hospital with approximately 10 cases per day
• Patient population is primarily adults with some pediatric ENT cases
• Case types include general, GYN, orthopedic (total joints, ORIFs, sports medicine upper extremity), and urology
• Robotics platform in use is the Medtronic Hugo (experience not required)
• Circulating role required; scrubbing experience is preferred
• EMR:
  Epic (experience required)
• IV pump:
  Alaris; medication dispensing:
  Omnicell
• 10-hour day shifts, 0630–1700, with a rotating day off each week
• On-call requirement: one weeknight per week (1830–0630) and every 5th weekend (Saturday 0630–Monday 0630)
• 30-minute callback time required for on-call shifts
• Weekend rotation is call only
• No floating required
• Schedule is built in 6-week increments
• Candidate's permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• Intraoperative responsibilities include circulating; scrub capability is a plus
• Department support includes a Charge RN (not available during callback), a 5–6 RN and 4–5 Surgical Tech team during day shifts, and 24/7 Anesthesiologist/CRNA, RT, and Hospitalist coverage
• Leadership is always reachable by phone after hours
• Orientation consists of a new employee orientation (NEO) plus 2 buddy-call orientation shifts
• Holiday coverage required for 50% of holidays (call only)
• Scrubs are provided by the facility with extended sizing available; parking is free
• Candidates who have previously worked a permanent position at any AHSE facility must have been separated for at least 1 year to be eligible
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

• Active NC RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 3 years of acute OR experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with general, GYN, orthopedic, and urology surgical cases required
• Must be comfortable working independently, as the RN will be the only RN on callback
• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
