- Not a Teaching Hospital
- Not a Chest Pain Center
- Not currently Stroke accredited
- Radius rule:
Traveler’s permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit
- Beds: 4
- Minimum Years of Experience required: 2 years ICU RN
- First‑time traveler: not preferred, but will accept with strong experience
- Can see any diagnosis except Cardiac Surgical - Sepsis, ARDS, GI Bleeds, DKA, Cardiac Arrest, Withdrawal, Renal Failure, etc.
- RN: 1:1-2
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS – Resource Team requirements
- Need to hold a current RN license
- SSN required, DOB required, 1 reference within last 12 months
- Permanent address >50 miles away, able to float within the regional hospitals group
- Critical care skillset: insulin, vasopressors, sedation, management of invasive lines (ART/CVP), cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, ventilator management, blood products, wound care/dressing changes, etc.
- CNA – assist with turning, feeding, ADLs, blood sugars, lab draws, mobility
- No HUC/Receptionist
- Charge nurse 24/7
- Phlebotomy – RN responsible; one available person may be called upon
- IV/VAT Team
- RT 24/7
- Hospitalist 24/7
- Intensivist 9a-11a; VCC coverage for other hours
- EMR: EPIC
- IV Pump:
Alaris - Med dispensing:
Omnicell - Unit specific equipment: telemetry monitors, bladder scanner, translator on a stick, virtual cart for rounding with MDs, Stroke Cart
- Within region and scope of practice
- Required to float per region needs – may need to float to all listed facilities
- Paid while traveling between facilities (remain on clock)
- Standardized for Resource Team
- Weekend rotation: every other
- No call
- Holiday expectations: work 75% of holidays
- RTO: can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays – must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours
- Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks
