Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) โ€“ Operating Room to join our clinical team. The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care through assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation while ensuring a safe environment for patients and staff.

The RN will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and provide patient-centered care aligned with professional nursing standards and the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses.

This position requires a nurse who is comfortable working independently and capable of handling on-call responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and analyze patient assessment data.
  • Identify actual or potential health problems and develop care plans.
  • Implement and coordinate patient care interventions.
  • Delegate tasks appropriately to other healthcare staff.
  • Evaluate patient outcomes and modify care plans as needed.
  • Maintain safe, ethical, and culturally competent nursing practice.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes.
  • Integrate evidence-based practice and research into nursing care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and professional development.
  • Maintain compliance with facility policies and regulatory standards.
  • Protect patient confidentiality and handle PHI appropriately.
Minimum Qualifications Education
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing
License & Certifications
  • Active Registered Nurse license
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) โ€“ required
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) โ€“ required
Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of acute Operating Room experience
  • Experience circulating in the OR required
  • Scrub experience preferred
  • Comfortable working independently during on-call situations
  • Experience with EPIC EMR system
Preferred Qualifications
  • BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) preferred
  • Additional specialty certifications or training
Patient Population & Case Types
  • Primarily adult patients, occasional pediatric ENT cases
  • Surgical specialties include:
    • General Surgery
    • Gynecology
    • Orthopedics (Total Joints, ORIF, Sports Medicine)
    • Urology
  • Robotics system used: Hugo (experience not required)
Facility Details
  • 33-bed hospital
  • 3 Operating Rooms
  • Average 10 surgeries per day
  • Not a trauma center
  • Not a teaching hospital
  • Free parking available
Department Support
  • Charge RN available during day shift
  • 5โ€“6 RNs and 4โ€“5 Surgical Techs on day shift
  • 24/7 coverage:
    • Anesthesiologist / CRNA
    • Respiratory Therapist
    • Hospitalist
  • Leadership support available by phone after hours
Technology & Equipment
  • EMR: EPIC (required)
  • IV Pumps: Alaris
  • Medication Dispensing: Omnicell
Schedule & Shift Information

๐Ÿ•’ Shift: 10-Hour Day Shift
๐Ÿ•’ Hours: 06:30 AM โ€“ 5:00 PM
๐Ÿ“… Rotating day off each week

On-Call Requirements
  • 1 weeknight call per week (6:30 PM โ€“ 6:30 AM)
  • Every 5th weekend call (Saturday 6:30 AM โ€“ Monday 6:30 AM)
  • 30-minute callback time
Holiday Requirements
  • 50% of holidays (call only)
Orientation
  • New Employee Orientation (NEO)
  • 2 shifts unit orientation with buddy call
Additional Information
  • Travelerโ€™s permanent residence must be 50+ miles from facility
  • Scrubs provided (extended sizing available)
  • No floating requirements
