We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room to join our clinical team. The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care through assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation while ensuring a safe environment for patients and staff.
The RN will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and provide patient-centered care aligned with professional nursing standards and the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses.
This position requires a nurse who is comfortable working independently and capable of handling on-call responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities- Collect and analyze patient assessment data.
- Identify actual or potential health problems and develop care plans.
- Implement and coordinate patient care interventions.
- Delegate tasks appropriately to other healthcare staff.
- Evaluate patient outcomes and modify care plans as needed.
- Maintain safe, ethical, and culturally competent nursing practice.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes.
- Integrate evidence-based practice and research into nursing care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and professional development.
- Maintain compliance with facility policies and regulatory standards.
- Protect patient confidentiality and handle PHI appropriately.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing
- Active Registered Nurse license
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – required
- Minimum 3 years of acute Operating Room experience
- Experience circulating in the OR required
- Scrub experience preferred
- Comfortable working independently during on-call situations
- Experience with EPIC EMR system
- BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) preferred
- Additional specialty certifications or training
- Primarily adult patients, occasional pediatric ENT cases
- Surgical specialties include:
- General Surgery
- Gynecology
- Orthopedics (Total Joints, ORIF, Sports Medicine)
- Urology
- Robotics system used: Hugo (experience not required)
- 33-bed hospital
- 3 Operating Rooms
- Average 10 surgeries per day
- Not a trauma center
- Not a teaching hospital
- Free parking available
- Charge RN available during day shift
- 5–6 RNs and 4–5 Surgical Techs on day shift
- 24/7 coverage:
- Anesthesiologist / CRNA
- Respiratory Therapist
- Hospitalist
- Leadership support available by phone after hours
- EMR: EPIC (required)
- IV Pumps: Alaris
- Medication Dispensing: Omnicell
🕒 Shift: 10-Hour Day Shift
🕒 Hours: 06:30 AM – 5:00 PM
📅 Rotating day off each week
- 1 weeknight call per week (6:30 PM – 6:30 AM)
- Every 5th weekend call (Saturday 6:30 AM – Monday 6:30 AM)
- 30-minute callback time
- 50% of holidays (call only)
- New Employee Orientation (NEO)
- 2 shifts unit orientation with buddy call
- Traveler’s permanent residence must be 50+ miles from facility
- Scrubs provided (extended sizing available)
- No floating requirements
