Position: APPAREL/ASST DEPT LEADER

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the management of the Apparel department by maximizing all financial opportunities and assuming management responsibilities in the manager's absence.
  • Manage and coordinate department activities to ensure customer satisfaction and efficient operations.
  • Plan and execute merchandising initiatives, promotions, and daily store operations in the absence of the manager.
  • Coach associates in the performance of their duties; provide feedback to direct reports and to the manager for performance reviews.
  • Respond to customers' verbal comments, complaints, and requests; maintain a welcoming and inviting department environment.
  • Assist in inventory processes and perform clerk duties as needed.
  • Work with associates to maintain common areas (break rooms, training areas) to reflect values and foster a positive team environment.
  • Manage maintenance/repair needs and complete incident/accident report forms as required.
  • Audit operations (ads, recalls, price changes, planograms, and merchandising standards) and ensure compliance with corporate policies and safety guidelines.
  • Assist in planograms, merchandising, and stockroom standards, including signing, ticketing, and storage organization.
  • Coordinate/organize department merchandising and support in implementing promotions and point-of-sale plans.
  • Assist in the execution of department floor merchandising and event planning in the manager's absence.
Qualifications
  • Minimum
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
    • Maintain confidentiality
    • Accuracy/attention to detail
    • Ability to organize/prioritize tasks/projects
    • Familiarity with industry/technical terms and processes
Desired
  • BA/BS in business or related field
  • Knowledge of company policies, procedures and organizational structure
  • Management experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, RMDS and current company email
  • CPR/first aid certification
  • Experience directing/participating on project teams
  • Deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service
  • Promote and follow company initiatives
  • Coordinate/organize merchandising of the department floor
  • Implement period merchandising bulletins, POS plans, and period planners
  • Maintain compliance with planograms, ticketing, recovery, fixtures usage and stockroom standards
  • Maintain compliance with corporate policies and safety guidelines, labor agreements, RMS updates/procedures and shrink control guidelines
  • Plan ads/store events and complete daily tours in the manager's absence
  • Implement promotions and POS plans and manage planograms and merchandising in the manager's absence
  • Audit returns and RTV reporting in the manager's absence
  • Verify pricing accuracy and follow up on price changes
  • Authorize manager discretion markdowns and audit scan audits
  • Maintain awareness of overstock/understock conditions and review daily/weekly sales
  • Complete daily tours
  • Maintain customer service focus and assist with customer/associate inquiries
  • Assist in inventory processes and store operations
  • Ensure department areas are inviting and reflect values
  • Coach associates and participate in performance reviews
  • Must be able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
