emergiTEL is hiring a HR Manager for our client in the Pulp & Paper industry. This is a Permanent role.

Job Description (English) Role:Human Resources Manager
Salary Range:$140,000-$160,000

Job Summary:- Responsible for ensuring the health and safety of all employees by driving initiatives that support the Zero Harm vision.
- Serves as a member of the Senior Management Team and oversees all Human Resources activities supporting the Woodlands, Deer Lake Power, and Newsprint Mill divisions.
- Maintain a strong commitment to workplace safety and environmental stewardship.
- Adhere to and promote company safety and environmental policies.
- Support health and safety policies, procedures, and initiatives.
- Ensure effective operation of the mill’s medical center and security team for both proactive and emergency response requirements.
- Participate as a member of the Disaster Response Team.
- Foster a positive work environment through effective administration of company policies and procedures.
- Provide HR support and guidance to supervisors and managers on employee-related matters.
- Support performance management and improvement plans.
- Promote a respectful and equitable workplace through diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
- Maintain positive relationships and effective communication with union leadership.
- Interpret and apply collective agreements.
- Administer labour relations processes, including dispute resolution, grievance handling, and arbitration.
- Participate in disciplinary matters and performance improvement initiatives.
- Lead collective bargaining activities.
- Manage the site succession planning process.
- Oversee recruitment activities for salaried employees.
- Coordinate and conduct interviews, reference checks, assessments, and testing.
- Manage employee development plans and performance appraisal programs.
- Oversee the development of labour and training budgets.
- Establish, monitor, and support key performance indicators (KPIs), including labour utilization, overtime, absenteeism, and training metrics.
- Oversee employee training and succession planning programs.
- Manage the training budget and training programs for the organization.

- Coach, develop, manage, and evaluate direct reports through the Employee Development and Performance Appraisal Review (EDPAR) process.
- Bachelor of Commerce with a major in Human Resources and Industrial Relations, or another relevant university degree.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
- Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Proven problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to act as a change agent and foster innovation and creativity.
- Proficiency in computer applications and Microsoft Outlook.
