Administrative Assistant
We are seeking a proactive, adaptable Administrative Assistant to support the Inorganic Materials organization at Sullivan Park in Corning, NY. This role provides direct administrative support to the capability leader and team within a highly technical research environment focused on inventing and developing new materials and products. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, resourceful, and able to anticipate needs, manage multiple priorities, and work effectively with minimal direction.
This position plays a key role in enabling team efficiency, supporting day-to-day operations, and contributing to a collaborative and innovative organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to the capability leader and team, including calendar management, scheduling, and meeting coordination.
- Arrange travel and prepare expense reports.
- Support budget tracking and monitoring, including eTad submissions.
- Compile, edit, and prepare team reports, presentations, and other documents.
- Assist with purchasing supplies and equipment.
- Prepare meeting spaces and support logistics for small and large team events.
- Coordinate department work functions and general administrative activities.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders across the organization.
- Present updates or information to larger groups as needed.
- Manage changing priorities and respond effectively during periods of high activity.
Experiences/Education
- Required:
- Associate's degree.
- Minimum of 2 years of administrative or related office experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Strong writing and editing skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience supporting calendars, meetings, travel arrangements, expense reporting, and general administrative functions.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
Experiences/Education

- Experience supporting leaders or teams in a technical, research, or professional environment.
- Ability to anticipate needs and take initiative without frequent direction.
- Strong judgment, problem-solving skills, and resourcefulness.
- Comfortable supporting highly technical professionals.

This position does not support immigration sponsorship. The range for this position is $62,786.00 hourly rate - $78,483.00 hourly rate. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
