** Role Purpose*
* The Global Policy & Trade Manager supports Corning's Government Affairs office with policy/advocacy strategies aligned with OFC and COC's business strategy and objectives. This position is a critical input for fiber and cable capacity planning. This position requires an in-depth understanding of applicable Federal, State and Local laws, policy research and monitoring, and review of internal and external reports to provide input to OFC's capacity decisions.
** Key Responsibilities*
* + In partnership with Corning GA (Government Affairs), serves as the voice of the business to help inform policy, advocacy, and trade strategy in support of business objectives
+ Represents OFC at COC+GA Federal and Global Team meetings as the primary OFC internal point of contact for business input on government affairs activities across the business
+ Prepare and present to Corning's Risk Council as required
+ Support GA-led engagement strategies by, leveraging Corning's market analysis and industry knowledge
+ Contribute business input to the development of clear and concise communications developed by GA for state agencies and legislators, as well as executives, senior management and key internal partners
+ Review, edit, and finalize reports and other documents needed by corporate Government Affairs team
+ Lead business input to support the process and strategic direction of international trade-related cases and verification process
+ Coordinating with Business Intelligence and Government Affairs teams, identify markets where Corning should protect its investments and develop action plans for the business
+ Assess OFC supply chain changes and advise leaders on risks and opportunities.
+ Monitor global trade and policy developments and translate impacts for leadership.
+ Guide project teams on compliance and risk for products, technologies, manufacturing, and global trade activities.
+ Support Legal with government audits, inquiries, and information requests.
+ Track tariff and duty changes and quantify business impacts for leadership.
+ Partner with supply chain and PLM teams to ensure regional compliance documentation and traceability is met.
** Experiences/Education - Required*
* + Bachelor's degree required
+ Relevant experience in government affairs, public policy, regulatory affairs, international trade, external affairs, supply chain, or a related corporate/business-facing role
