Make a meaningful impact this summer by supporting students in an engaging educational environment. An exciting opportunity is available for contract Paraprofessionals to provide 1:1 support for the summer school program running from July 6, 2026, to August 14, 2026, Monday through Friday (8:00AM-2:00PM). These positions, based in the Elmira area at Eastern Host sites, play a vital role in assisting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Preferred candidates include male Teacher Assistants, as some students respond best to male role models.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Current, valid New York State License/Certificate for Teacher Assistants required (please submit a copy with your application)
• Previous experience working in a 1:1 setting, especially with students on the autism spectrum, highly preferred
• TCI (Therapeutic Crisis Intervention) certification is required for these roles
• Compassion, patience, and a commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with classroom teachers and staff

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the learning and behavioral needs of an assigned student during the duration of summer school
• Implement individualized plans and actively participate in classroom activities
• Foster positive relationships to encourage student growth and learning
• Assist with daily routines, transitions, and student engagement
• Maintain open communication with the education team regarding student progress and needs
