** Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline is preferred.

** Key Responsibilities*
* + Design, develop, and validate optical metrology and machine vision systems.

+ Develop image processing algorithms for measurement, inspection, feature extraction, and defect detection.

+ Build and deploy machine learning models to improve inspection accuracy and system performance.

+ Integrate hardware and software solutions into manufacturing workflows.

+ Collaborate with engineering, quality, operations, and IT teams to define system requirements.

+ Transition new technologies from development into production.

+ Troubleshoot, optimize, and continuously improve deployed measurement systems.

+ Create technical documentation, operating procedures, and user manuals.

+ Train engineering, maintenance, and operations personnel.

+ Support domestic and international travel (10-30%) for system deployment and customer support.

** Qualifications*
* + 7+ years of experience developing optical metrology, machine vision, or automated inspection systems.

+ Hands-on experience with optical systems, cameras, imaging hardware, lighting, and precision measurement equipment.

+ Strong programming experience with Python and/or C#.

+ Experience developing machine vision algorithms including edge detection, blob analysis, morphology, feature extraction, and object classification.

+ Experience applying machine learning techniques, including CNNs and traditional computer vision methods.

+

Experience with OpenCV, Halcon, LabVIEW, or similar machine vision software.

+ Strong analytical skills with experience using Python, MATLAB, or Excel for data analysis.

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

+ Ability to create technical documentation and train end users.

** Preferred Qualifications*

Experience with optical metrology technologies including laser measurement, 3D imaging, and physical optics.

+ Motion control and precision automation experience.

+ Knowledge of statistical analysis and Design of Experiments (DOE).

Experience with database technologies and high-performance computing.

+ Background supporting manufacturing inspection and quality systems.

+ Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative environment.
