Role Purpose

Overview of Finance Development Program Corning's summer internship experience is rich with hands-on learning. You'll live, work, and experience the communities in which Corning operates, while building on-the-job skills. Interns are expected to deliver results against our business and financial objectives, applying knowledge and practices both independently and as a team. Working with a supervisor, you will gain work experience while interacting with key technologies, subject matter experts and leaders.

The purpose of the Finance Intern Program is to raise the bar on talent by strengthening our pipeline for entry level roles for immediate and future needs.

Requirements

Working towards a Bachelor's degree in:
Accounting, Economics, and/or Finance or equivalent
Strong computer skills; proficiency in Excel / PowerPoint required
Sarbanes-Oxley knowledge required
To be considered for an internship at Corning Incorporated, you must be actively enrolled at a college or university as a full-time student seeking a bachelor's degree or higher. Must be available for 10 weeks during Summer 2027 (May-August 2027) with a graduation date of December 2027 or later. Be interested in working for Corning, Inc after graduation, if presented with a full-time job opportunity.

Be willing to work at the posted job location

Qualifications

Working towards a Master's degree in related area not required but desirable
Certifications desirable (e.g. CPA, CMA, CFA, etc.)
Six Sigma Green belt/Black belt certification – a plus
General cost and accounting knowledge
Experience in a Finance/ Accounting with class or internship experience
Attention to detail, accuracy, process-oriented and organized
Excellent communication (including presentation) skills
Excellent problem solving capability
Data driven problem solving capability
Ability to work independently
Drive towards continuous process improvement
Interest in working in different Finance function areas
Comfortable working on their own and in groups
Inquisitive and curious
Personally driven and self-aware
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong PowerPoint skill
Enrolled in an undergraduate program for Accounting, Business, or Finance
Minimum GPA of 3.5

Desired Technical Skills

Data analytics software experience (ACL, IDEA, etc.) desired
People Soft and/or SAP experience desired
Cost accounting/manufacturing experience desired
