This position is located in Painted Post, NY
Role PurposeResponsible for executing transactional procurement activities to support sourcing needs and supplier payment requirements. This role works closely with GSM to ensure the Global Buying Policy is followed and that the proper buy channel and category strategies are utilized.
Key Responsibilities- Manage sourcing requests while supporting TC and procurement objectives
- Work with requisitioners, suppliers, receiving, and Corning Shared Services to resolve invoice issues, identify root cause, and implement corrective actions
- Partner with local Procurement teams to support purchasing activities and align with approved buying channels and category strategies
- Support compliance with the Global Buying Policy and standard procurement processes, tools, and systems
- Participate in cross functional projects focused on process improvement, cost reduction, and other assigned initiatives
- Coordinate supplier setup and onboarding activities to support accurate data management and timely processing
- Compile, analyze, and provide purchasing and operational data to stakeholders, leadership, and Global Supply Management
- Prepare and process GSM and Finance waiver requests in accordance with company policy and approval requirements
- Handle confidential, intellectual property, and proprietary information in accordance with company standards
- Perform additional related responsibilities as assigned
Minimum of an AAS degree in supply chain, business, or related field; equivalent work experience will be considered
Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience in manufacturing, operations, planning, engineering, supply management, or procurement and purchase order processing
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with businesses, staff groups, GSM, suppliers, Shared Services, and legal
Demonstrated decision making, influencing, negotiation, and conflict management or problem solving skills
Strong customer service focus with internal customers and external suppliers
Ability to make decisions in a fast paced environment
Strong multitasking and priority setting skills
Effective team player in a collaborative environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Strong analytical, data analysis, and problem solving skills
Experience PreferredPrice, cost, or should cost analysis
Commodity and supply chain expertise
Experience with People Soft, Ariba, SAP including S4
HANA and SAP ECC6, SharePoint, Concur, and Excel
Contracting, including negotiation, writing, and management
Procurement knowledge
Performance Excellence skill set
Experience with global manufacturing and/or business through work or project leadership
Team leadership and participation
This position does not support immigration sponsorship. The range for this position is $63,000.00 - $86,625.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
