Beautician

Corning Center, a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in Corning, NY, is seeking a compassionate Beautician to provide hair and grooming services to our residents. The Beautician will perform haircuts, styling, shampooing, coloring, and basic nail and skincare services with sensitivity to residents' physical and cognitive needs. This role collaborates with nursing and activities staff to schedule appointments, maintain safe and sanitary equipment, and support residents' dignity, confidence, and comfort.

Responsibilities

• Provide haircuts, styling, shampooing, and basic color services for residents
• Offer basic nail and skincare grooming appropriate for a senior population
• Consult with residents to understand preferences and support dignity and self-esteem
• Coordinate and schedule appointments with nursing and activities staff
• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary salon environment and tools
• Follow infection control and safety protocols in a healthcare setting
• Document services provided per facility policy, if required
• Communicate compassionately with residents, families, and staff
• Adapt services to residents' physical, cognitive, and medical needs
• Support a resident-focused, respectful, and team-oriented care environment
