Goal is to ensure each operation has a rigorous safety program that protects the safety of Corning employees, contractors and visitors at all times. This role must adeptly function within a matrixed organization structure with plant EHS and Corporate Safety teams driving solutions in cooperation with plant operations, engineering and technology resources.

A significant emphasis will be hands-on support to help sites accomplish the work. Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with site teams across the Americas region to implement corporate safety standards — delivering employee training, developing continuous improvement plans, supporting post-incident problem solving, and sharing best practices across sites.
  • Conduct site assessment visits (up to 2-week durations) to evaluate compliance with corporate safety standards and regulatory requirements; develop and support Corrective Action and Preventive Action (CAPA) plans to close identified gaps.
  • Drive systematic, data-driven continuous improvement across the region; analyze injury/illness data, compliance metrics, and training completion data to identify trends and develop targeted solutions.
  • Coach and guide facility safety personnel; support site leadership in building training plans that engage all organizational levels — from business and manufacturing leadership to front-line operations and engineering teams.
  • Serve as a regional subject matter expert on OSHA, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance; contribute to the development and ongoing governance of corporate safety standards.

- Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety and Health Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field

  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, risk assessment legislation, and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Experience managing safety audits, inspections, compliance data, and internal reporting
  • Experience identifying compliance gaps and developing practical corrective actions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point

Desired
