Quality Manager/Quality Assurance Manager
A leading manufacturer in the glass packaging sector is seeking a highly experienced Quality Assurance Supervisor to lead inspection and testing operations within a high-volume production environment. This role is critical to ensuring all finished goods meet stringent performance, durability, and compliance standards.
Candidates with direct experience in glass container manufacturing - especially supporting beer, food, beverage, liquor, and consumer product industries - are strongly preferred. This background is considered nearly essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee inspection and testing teams to ensure productivity, accuracy, and technical excellence
- Monitor finished goods through mechanical and electrical testing to confirm adherence to quality standards
- Develop and interpret statistical data to define product specifications and reliability expectations
- Partner with production teams by providing technical and quality guidance
- Establish, implement, and maintain quality control standards and continuous improvement initiatives
- Design and enforce inspection procedures and acceptance criteria
- Analyze production data to identify trends and drive process improvements
- Serve as a key contact for customers, including site visits, technical consultation, and quality follow-up
- Investigate quality complaints and implement timely corrective actions to ensure customer satisfaction
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
- 5 to 8 years of experience in a manufacturing quality environment
- Strongly preferred: hands-on experience in glass manufacturing, especially glass containers for the food, beverage, beer, liquor, or consumer products industries
- Certification in ISO, SQF, or similar quality systems preferred
- Background in Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with both internal manufacturing teams and external customers
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with high attention to detail
- Proven ability to work independently and make sound decisions based on experience and judgment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Strong knowledge of quality systems, methodologies, and best practices
