Responsibilities
The Senior Customer Care Specialist manages and operates the City’s utility billing processes for water, sewer, electric, reclaimed water, and other services. Key duties include:
- Generate utility bills and manage collections.
- Administer shut‑offs, penalties, and payment arrangements.
- Ensure accurate rate changes, account updates, and billing system codes and templates.
- Create and maintain accounts for new developments and temporary construction meters.
- Produce operational and audit reports necessary for utility operations.
- Review account data, identify and correct billing discrepancies, and process delinquency actions.
- Support compliance with collections, bankruptcy procedures, and established billing policies.
- Provide guidance to Customer Care Representatives as needed.
- Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.
- Three (3) years of increasingly responsible office administrative support or secretarial experience.
