We are seeking aSenior CAD Drafter to support the creation of complete, production-ready drawing packages for industrial equipment and mechanical assemblies. This role is crucial for offloading detailed drafting work from engineers and converting design intent into fabrication, bid, installation, and certification packages. The work varies significantly in complexity, from simple tank weldments to complex multi-week assembly packages. The ideal candidate brings strong drafting fundamentals, manufacturing awareness, and thrives in a high‑mix, custom design environment.

Responsibilities- Develop detailed 2D drawings, fabrication packages, and bid drawings using Solid Works/AutoCAD
- Create system layouts, P&IDs, schematics, and piping drawings
- Convert engineering concepts, sketches, and redlines into production‑ready drawings
- Produce weldment drawings with full weld callouts
- Create pipe spool drawings (ASME/API)
- Generate BOMs and material cut lists with sourcing details
- Revise drawings based on engineering feedback
- Support project timelines and deliverables
- Generate assembly instructions, installation drawings, and lifting plans
- Associate’s degree or Diploma or equivalent in Drafting, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3 – 5 years of experience in Solid Works/AutoCAD Drafting related to Process Piping, Mechanical, General Equipment Layouts, Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and Bills of Materials.
- Experience with Solid Works PDM.
- Strong mathematical skills and fundamentals in geometry and trigonometry.
- Strong problem‑solving skills.
- Proficient knowledge of Solid Works and AutoCAD.
- Excellent grasp of engineering and design principles.
- Strong ability to communicate with teammates via email and MS Teams.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is a plus.
- Experience with sheet metal fabrication/manufacturing is a plus.
- Working knowledge of supporting software:
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. - Experience drafting design layouts for heavy industrial machinery.
- Appreciation for business demands and understanding of manufacturing processes.
The role is within a heavy industrial equipment manufacturing company. It involves primarily sedentary work, requiring the ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally. The position demands substantial talking and hearing, requiring the ability to express and receive detailed information accurately. It also involves repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and fingers, with a necessity for visual acuity to ensure accuracy and neatness in work.

Permanent position based out of Corona, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $75,000.00 – $95,000.00 per year. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, PTO, holiday, and paid sick leave.
