Supervisory Civil Engineer

Duties

Serve as Chief for a resident or area construction field office responsible for supervising and personally performing the full range of office engineering and construction contract administration duties.

Direct the work of professional and technical personnel who review, analyze and negotiate major contractor schedules, modifications, requests for information, and claims.

Maintain overall technical responsibility and accountability for the technical adequacy of the work of the Section/Resident Office within the field office.

Plan work, set priorities, and prepare work schedules. Assign work to subordinates based on position descriptions and work priorities.

Serve as advisor to the Chief Construction Division recommending contract administration policy, and advising on matters related to office engineering and construction contract administration.
