Description
Are you ready to make a real impact on your community? The City of Corona is looking for a dynamic and driven individual to join our Public Works Department as an Assistant Project Manager in the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Division. The primary responsibilities for this position are the planning, design, and construction of capital improvement plan projects, including but not limited to utilities, streets, storm drains, parks and facilities.
Currently there is one (1) vacancy in the utility engineering division.
Responsibilities- Plan, design, and manage construction of Capital Improvement Plan projects in utilities, streets, storm drains, parks and facilities.
- Perform a diverse range of entry-level engineering tasks in the design and construction management of City CIP projects.
- Prepare, analyze, interpret engineering studies, plans and specifications, regulatory documents, and guidelines; determine conformance with laws and standards; research, analyze, and summarize data; perform engineering calculations and cost estimates.
- Interpret and make sound, independent decisions on design criteria, policies, ordinances, and procedures.
- Analyze, interpret, summarize, and present administrative and technical information and data, including written reports.
- Assist in developing and administering contracts for professional services and construction in a public agency setting.
- Investigate field conditions for project feasibility and issues that arise during construction.
- Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major courses in civil engineering or related fields.
- No experience is required.
- Possession of a valid California Driver’s License, to be maintained throughout employment.

- The successful candidate will be required to undergo a reference/background check including Livescan and pass a pre-employment medical examination (which will include a drug/alcohol screening).
