Clinical Data Analyst

Full Time, Corona, CA, US

Salary Range: $40.86 To $50.48 Hourly

Position Summary

The Clinical Data Analyst is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting clinical and operational data to support informed decision‑making across the organization. This role partners with clinical, operational, and IT teams to develop reports, dashboards, and insights that improve patient outcomes, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Extract, analyze, and validate data from clinical systems (e.g., EHR, financial, operational systems)
  • Develop and maintain reports and dashboards using tools such as Power BI, SQL, or Excel
  • Support hospital operations through reporting on key metrics (e.g., DNFB, LOS, case mix index, patient volumes)
  • Collaborate with clinical, finance, and operational teams to understand reporting needs and deliver actionable insights
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across reporting platforms
  • Assist in regulatory and compliance reporting (e.g., HCAI, CMS, internal audits)
  • Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for process improvement
  • Support data requests from leadership, departments, and external stakeholders
  • Document reporting processes, data definitions, and workflows
  • Participate in data validation, testing, and system upgrades (e.g., EHR enhancements, migrations)

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in data analysis (healthcare experience preferred)
  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation
  • Experience with reporting/visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, or similar)
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)
  • Ability to communicate data insights clearly to non‑technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with EHR systems such as Paragon, Epic Systems, or Cerner
  • Knowledge of healthcare metrics (DNFB, LOS, readmissions, case mix index, etc.)
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulatory reporting requirements (HCAI, CMS)
  • Experience in a hospital or healthcare system environment
  • Understanding of data governance and data quality best practices
