Shift: 2nd Shift Hourly Rate: $24.00/hr.
Schedule: Mon-Sat, 6:00PM-4:30AM (OT and weekends, as required) Classification: Non-Exempt

Position Summary
Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the Production Lead supports and coordinates daily shift operations by monitoring work orders, attendance, productivity, and workflow. This role partners closely with the Production Supervisor to ensure safety, quality, and performance standards are consistently met or exceeded. The Production Lead serves as a key point of communication between production and other departments, maintaining a professional and collaborative work environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of food manufacturing experience preferred.
- Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel and Outlook), preferred.

Responsibilities
- Ensure a “Safety First” culture by observing and enforcing all safety rules and regulations.
- Adhere to and enforce all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Maintain production areas in an “audit-ready” condition at all times.
- Ensure machinery is functioning properly by inspecting quality control focus areas, materials, and products throughout the packaging process.
- Properly handle and operate scanners as required.
- Perform outputs, consumptions, and product movements using scanners as required.
- Utilize BC systems, Jet Reports, and close work orders as required.
- Review production schedules with the Production Supervisor and assign work orders to Machine Operators.
- Track production schedule progress and update revisions as needed.
- Prepare, release, and print work order packets, verifying accuracy against production schedules.
- Review work orders with Machine Operators to ensure understanding and accuracy.
- Communicate production revisions to personnel in a timely manner.
- Monitor work order completion to ensure labor hours, materials, and production data are accurate and current.
- Coordinate with Warehouse staff to ensure product availability and prevent downtime.
- Communicate with operators regarding staffing and assist with line balancing when applicable.
- Lead production employee training to ensure proper operation of machinery and equipment, adherence to manufacturing and inspection processes, and compliance with safety and quality requirements.
- Review the timekeeping system to ensure compliance; notify management of missed, late, or short meal periods and other discrepancies.
- Cover production clerk and label clerk duties when required.
- Conduct weekly toolbox and knife audits.
- Assist Quality Control with product issues identified on production lines.
- Maintain flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor or management.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, twist, sit, climb stairs and ladders, and use hands and fingers for handling, reaching, and operating equipment.
- Ability to repetitively lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Requires normal vision, hearing, and manual dexterity.
