Responsible for leading the Accessories Department, which includes the Module Line, Min-Max system, and Kits & Receptacle Line. Ensures efficient production flow, material control, and quality output in alignment with ESL’s production standards and delivery goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Supervise daily operations across the Accessories Department, including Module Line, Kits, and Receptacle Line, ensuring production efficiency and adhering to quality standards.
- Manage and oversee the department’s Min-Max process to maintain proper inventory levels, reduce shortages, and support on-time manufacturing.
- Plan, organize, and monitor production schedules to meet delivery commitments and align with company goals.
- Estimate manpower and material requirements based on workload and forecast; communicate needs to Scheduling and Operations.
- Track departmental performance metrics such as On-Time Manufacturing (OTM), On-Time Delivery (OTD), and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ).
- Coordinate with Planning, Engineering, and Customer Service to ensure production meets customer expectations and internal schedules.
- Monitor machine and equipment performance; coordinate necessary repairs or preventive maintenance with the Operations Manager.
- Maintain 5S standards and promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Train and develop team members for skill advancement and promote high levels of performance, accountability, and morale.
- Evaluate employee performance, recommend promotions or disciplinary actions as necessary, and maintain team alignment with company values.
- Recommend process improvements, tools, or technology to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Ensure finished products are completed and transferred to Quality Control and Shipping on schedule.
- Collaborate with Quality Control to address any non-conformance or rework issues.
- Engage and model ESL’s Core Values daily, reinforcing ownership and teamwork throughout the department.
- Implement and uphold all Company Safety and Health Programs and policies.
- Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple product lines.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Working knowledge of production planning, material flow, and Min-Max inventory systems.
- Computer literate with proficiency in production tracking software (e.g., Epicor preferred).
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and adaptable to fast-paced environments.
EXPERIENCE:
- This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in production and operations.
