Position: Registered Nurse (RN)

Responsibilities

  • Administer chemotherapy, hydration, and other medications under the direct supervision of a physician.
  • Perform assessments on patients and provide care throughout all stages of diagnosis to end of life.
  • Participate in activities to plan, measure, assess, and improve the quality of patient care.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of ambulatory infusion pump use and maintenance.
  • Draw blood via port catheter or PICC line.
  • Educate patients and their families about chemotherapy side effects.
  • Encourage new chemotherapy patients and families to utilize the "See Your Chart" portal.
  • Schedule chemotherapy, hydration, injections, and bone marrow procedures in the EMR.
  • Follow company process for billing verification before administering medications.
  • Monitor Coumadin levels and provide patient education.
  • Complete patient documentation in a timely manner and maintain a clean work environment.
  • Verify patient allergies.
  • Maintain skills, knowledge, and currency in chemotherapy administration, and attend continuing education meetings to preserve nursing license.
  • Assist the charge nurse with daily operations.

  • Ability to communicate clearly with patients, families, visitors, healthcare team, physicians, administrators, leadership, and others.
Qualifications
  • Current California RN license.
  • Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification through ONS or must obtain within 12 months of hire.
  • Current CPR/BCLS certification.
  • Excellent IV skills, including access port-a-caths and PICC lines.
  • Basic typing, keyboard, and computer skills.
  • Great customer service skills.
  • Medical terminology in oncology/hematology.
  • Specific previous oncology/hematology experience preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary Transparency: Exact compensation may vary based on skills, education, certifications, experience, and location. Base salary range: $45.00 to $55.00 per hour.
