What You’ll Be DoingThe Area Sales Leader is responsible for driving sales performance, field execution, and revenue growth across a team of water heater selling technicians. This is a selling role
—you are expected to be in the field the majority of the day, actively engaging with customers. The role is a player/coach position
, not a direct manager role. That means your field time is your time to sell while also coaching and supporting your team through ride‑alongs, demonstrations, and shared sales activity.
A defined sales close ratio is a critical requirement of this position, and consistent achievement of this metric is essential for success. The role requires balancing your own selling performance with coaching responsibilities to help the team achieve its targets. This Sales Leader works closely with Operations and Dispatch to ensure seamless integration between sales and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities , Include But Are Not Limited To- Sell directly to customers while also coaching in the field—acting as both a player and coach.
- Achieve and maintain the defined sales conversion/close ratio.
- Coach and develop a team of selling technicians responsible for both sales and installations.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including close rates, average ticket price, product offerings, and revenue per tech.
- Provide in-field coaching and ride‑alongs to reinforce sales process compliance and enhance performance.
- Promote bundling opportunities (e.g., HALO water filtration with water heaters) and proper use of financing options.
- Ensure consistency in quoting, upselling, and presenting product options to customers.
- Train technicians on in‑home presentation, objection handling, and value‑based selling strategies.
- Support technician onboarding and skill development with ongoing training and performance feedback.
- Promote safety, compliance, and quality standards across all installation work.
- Field Presence:
Must be in the field the majority of the day, using that time to sell and coach. - Sales Metrics:
Achievement of the defined sales close ratio and assigned KPIs is required.
- At least five (5) years minimum experience.
- Proven experience in sales leadership or management.
- Strong coaching and mentoring abilities.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
- Results‑driven mindset with a track record of exceeding targets.
- Possess a valid California Driver’s License pursuant to the Company’s Fleet policy.
