Part Time Sales Associate

Overview

Five Below is seeking part-time Sales Associates who deliver outstanding customer service, drive sales, and maintain organized, well-stocked floors to provide a seamless checkout experience.

• Greet and assist customers promptly:
  Approach and acknowledge customers, provide assistance, and manage multiple customers efficiently.
• Understand and meet customer needs:
  Share product knowledge, answer questions, direct customers to merchandise, and offer recommendations; engage in suggestive selling while staying informed on product availability.
• Promote store events and promotions:
  Inform customers about current store events, promotions, and special activities to enhance the shopping experience and drive sales.
• Resolve customer concerns:
  Address customer issues and use product knowledge to offer alternative solutions, aiming to turn returns into exchanges when possible.
• Communicate needs to management:
  Regularly inform management about merchandise restocking, service requirements, and customer feedback in a timely manner.
• Support team and company goals:
  Collaborate with the team to achieve store and company objectives and maintain a positive work environment.

• At least 16 years old
• Available to work a flexible schedule
• Comfortable with or willing to learn technology (such as cash registers, hand-held and mobile devices)
• Good communicator with the ability to engage with customers
• Able to handle customer interactions and potential issues courteously and professionally
• Use basic information-gathering skills to solve problems
• Ability to learn procedural knowledge acquired through on-the-job training

• Frequently operate cash register
• Frequently move merchandise weighing up to 25 lbs and place/remove merchandise up to a height of 5-10 feet
• Frequently ascend/descend ladders to retrieve and put away stock
• Frequently position self to kneel, bend, twist, and stoop, including in the stock room and on the sales floor
• Frequently communicate and exchange information with customers, managers, and coworkers in person and over the phone; must exchange accurate information
• Frequently move across the sales floor assisting customers and retrieving/putting away merchandise from the stock room
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including day, evening, weekends, and possibly overnight shifts and travel
• Identify and discern email and print instructions regarding merchandise layouts, associate schedules, and standard operating procedures
• Remain in a stationary, upright position for up to 80% of the time
