Job Summary

We are looking for a full‑time Fire Sprinkler Service Fitter who will install, modify, and repair fire sprinkler systems, ensuring compliance with NFPA 13 specifications, coaching apprentices, and adhering to safety policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Install, modify, and repair fire sprinkler systems.
  • Follow safety regulations and wear required safety equipment.
  • Use company and industry standard practices.
  • Fill out and submit work tickets upon completion.
  • Maintain accurate written and electronic documentation (timesheets, work tickets, inspection reports, etc.).
  • Solve practical problems and create action plans.
  • Work under limited supervision.
  • Train and coach fire sprinkler apprentices.
  • Attend training, safety, and education meetings to enhance knowledge.
Required

Skills & Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of fire sprinkler installation experience.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 13, NFPA 25, and California Fire Code.
  • Must be able to drive a company vehicle and travel to job sites.
  • Hold a valid driver’s license and maintain an acceptable motor‑vehicle record.
  • Valid California Fire Fitter certification preferred.
  • Basic understanding of measurements.
  • Ability to read and understand inspection reports, product specification sheets, O&M manuals, drawings, blueprints, and fire codes.
  • Complete knowledge of operating electrical and mechanical tools (saws, wrenches, cutting torches, drills, pipe threaders, lifts, ladders, motor vehicles).
  • Adhere to safety practices.
  • Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
  • Knowledge of operating a pipe threading machine safely.
  • Clear communication with clients and team members.
  • Flexibility to work with others in varied circumstances.
  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions.

Compensation

Pay range: $28 - $45 USD per hour. Final compensation may vary based on experience and skill set.

Physical Requirements

This role may require extended periods of sitting or standing, moving around the office or job site, and operating standard equipment. Physical activities can include reaching, bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting up to 75 pounds. Field positions may involve heavy lifting, working in varying climates (including outdoor conditions), construction or low‑voltage environments, and exposure to dust, noise, or confined spaces. Personal protective equipment may be required.

Some positions may require travel.
