Field Service Machinist

Starting at $35-45/hour — Based on Experience

Full-Time | In-Person

We are looking for an experienced Field Machinist who enjoys hands‑on work, traveling to different job sites, and solving challenging machining problems.

You'll perform precision machining and repair work on large industrial equipment at customer locations, including turbines, pumps, compressors, shafts, and other critical machinery.

• Set up and operate portable/manual lathes, mills, and line boring equipment
• Perform line boring, milling, turning, drilling, tapping, threading, and flange facing
• Repair and restore shafts, journals, and other critical components
• Machine parts to tight tolerances in field conditions
• Read blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T
• Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators
• Set up and tear down machining equipment at customer sites
• Work directly with customers and provide updates on job progress
• Complete basic job reports and documentation
• Follow all safety requirements while working around heavy industrial equipment

• 5+ years of manual machining experience
• Experience with manual lathes and mills
• Field machining or portable machining experience is a plus
• Strong ability to machine and inspect tight tolerances
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
• Valid driver's license
• Willingness to travel
• Comfortable working overtime, weekends, and extended hours when needed

• Line boring and flange facing
• Industrial field service
• Power generation, marine, or heavy equipment repair
• Welding or fabrication
• Rigging and overhead crane experience
• OSHA or industrial safety training
