Position PurposeThe Yard Driver is responsible for moving tractor trailers to/from the loading docks and parking loaded or empty trailers in designated areas in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). Communicates and interacts with customers, vendors and co-workers professionally ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.
ResponsibilitiesMay Include, But Not Limited To:
- Performs inspections and moves trailers safely following all DOT regulations and company safe-driving policies.
- Fuels, moves, and parks tractors and trailers to the docks.
- Transports tractor trailers to offsite maintenance and/or inspection facilities; requires local city driving.
- Secures trucks, trailers, and equipment always. Completes all required documentation.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
