SUMMARYThe Contract Warehouse Lead oversees daily warehouse operations. Responsibilities include receiving, storing, staging, and shipping materials; coordinating labor; maintaining inventory accuracy; and ensuring safe, efficient warehouse practices are being followed. This role is hands‑on and provides frontline direction to warehouse personnel while representing Omega Morgan in customer‑facing environments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Shipping & Receiving
- Receive drivers, verify documentation, and direct them to proper loading/unloading areas.
- Oversee and assist with unloading inbound freight; inspect for damage; tag and document materials for inventory tracking.
- Prepare, stage, load, and secure outbound freight; ensure shipping documentation is complete and accurate.
- Place and organize freight in designated warehouse areas according to site standards and safety requirements.
- Inventory Controls
- Maintain a clean, organized warehouse layout supporting accurate flow of materials.
- Track, record, and reconcile inventory using customer systems and Omega Morgan standards.
- Conduct cycle counts and periodic physical inventories; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Perform light housekeeping, spill cleanup, and general upkeep of warehouse.
- Conduct basic equipment checks and report maintenance needs.
- Identify and elevate facility hazards, repair needs, or operational risks.
- Supervise warehouse associates, temporary staff, and drivers assigned to the contract site.
- Assign daily tasks, monitor productivity, and ensure work follows established procedures and industry standards.
- Train employees in safe operation, warehouse organization, and customer‑specific requirements.
- Support coaching, performance feedback, and adherence to company policies and safety expectations.
- Oversee employees on light duty, ensuring restrictions are followed and assignments remain productive.
- Enforce all PPE requirements and immediately correct unsafe behavior.
- Communicate operational updates, delays, inventory issues, or resource needs promptly.
- Coordinate with Site Manager and crew to align warehouse activity with project schedules.
- Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.
- Follow all safety regulations and immediately report hazards or incidents.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by Site Manager, Project Manager, Superintendents, or Management.
- High school diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3–6 years warehouse experience including shipping/receiving and inventory control.
- Prior lead or supervisory experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license; CDL helpful but not required.
- Intermediate computer skills; familiarity with inventory or warehouse management systems.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience with tools, rigging, and material‑handling equipment.
