Position: SAFTEY AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST with Security Clearance
Duties
* You will plan, schedule, and conduct inspections, evaluations and surveys of facilities, equipment and operations at various locations to determine compliance with regulatory requirements.
* You will develop instructions and procedures to establish technical and administrative safety and occupational health program requirements for review/approval.
* You will advise managers, supervisors and Department Heads on safety issues directly affecting facility operations, human-machine relationships, and work process safety principles and their application to employees within the workplace.
* You will plan, coordinate and conduct mishap and near mishaps investigations involving student, staff, and property.
* You will provide command-wide safety training on a wide range of operations to include but not limited to: safety orientation for new command personnel and select students; holiday safety briefs, department safety representatives and/or supervisors.
* You will review plans and specifications for new facility construction, major alterations, or changes to safety and occupational health requirements. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
* Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
* This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
* You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: leading and conducting technical inspections, hazardous and general surveys, as well as complex mishap investigations across diverse, high-hazard work environments to identify systematic risks and execute robust corrective actions;

develop, implement and manage comprehensive recreation and off duty safety programs, while serving as the primary technical advisor to senior leadership investigations and safety education, training and mandatory compliance reporting procedures.
