Special Education Teacher – $70/hr – Coronado, CA – In‑Person – 4 Months Position Overview
The Special Education Teacher provides specialized instruction and support to students in grades K–12. Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, this educator delivers individualized instruction, supports IEP implementation, provides tutorial assistance, documents student progress, and collaborates with general education staff to meet diverse learning needs.
Assignment Details- Location: Coronado, CA
- Start Date: 03/09/2026 (ASAP)
- Duration: 4 months
- Schedule: Monday–Friday
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Pay Rate: $70/hour (local)
- Modality: In-person
- Openings: 1 position
- Special Education classroom serving secondary grade levels (9–12)
- Class size: 6 students
- Mild/Moderate or Moderate/Severe credential depending on assignment needs
- Wednesday minimum‑day schedule: 8:30 a.m.–3:45 p.m.
- Full school‑day schedule: 8:30 a.m.–4:35 p.m.
- Virtual interview required
- Provide specialized instruction to students with disabilities in a small‑class setting
- Implement IEP goals, accommodations, and modifications
- Deliver academic interventions and individualized instruction
- Document services and maintain compliance with state and federal requirements
- Communicate and collaborate with general education teachers and support staff
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on ongoing data
- Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree - Valid state teaching certificate
- Preferred certifications:
Standard Elementary Teaching, Standard Secondary Teaching, Standard Special Teaching - M/S California Credential required
- LBS1 endorsement preferred (if applicable)
- CPR certification if required
- TB screening and health certificate per state guidelines
- Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
