Axos Bank Target Range: $100,000/Yr.

- $125,000/Yr. Actual starting pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.

Eligible for an Annual Discretionary Cash Bonus Target: 12.5% and an Annual Discretionary Restricted Stock Units Bonus Target: 12.5%. These discretionary target bonuses may be awarded semi‑annually based upon your achievement of performance goals and targets.

Axos Bank is seeking a detail‑oriented and experienced Supervisory Senior Underwriter to join our team, specializing in Single Family Residential loans including Construction and Entity Loans. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in conventional jumbo portfolio loan underwriting with both secondary review and historical loan signing authority. You’ll be responsible for evaluating loan documentation, assessing borrower creditworthiness, and ensuring compliance with investor and bank portfolio guidelines.

• Manage daily production and quality expectations to achieve monthly business goals and quality service levels.
• Perform second reviews of initial credit decisions to ensure accurate disposition and track relevant feedback.
• Manage, mentor and coach a team of underwriters, providing technical training and evaluation performance.
• Partner with internal and external Operation and Sales teams finding solutions and support for production goals.
• Evaluate complex transactions including credit history, income, assets and current liabilities for ability to repay.
• Conduct careful risk analysis and exercise good judgment to determine if loans conform to applicable underwriting guidelines for sale on the secondary market.
• Requires proficiency and in‑depth knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, HUD, and investor guidelines.

• 10+ years of single‑family residential jumbo loan underwriting experience with a focus of a minimum 5+ years of portfolio underwriting of conventional jumbo loans.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, mathematics or statistics preferred.
• Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem solving and decision making.
• Strong knowledge of underwriting philosophy, techniques, national/local filing regulations and guidelines.
• Strong analytic, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail oriented and able to work in a flexible and production‑oriented environment.
• Ability to effectively assess risk and strong negotiation skills.
